Meet the People Behind Your Barcelona Team Building Experience
We're the small, local team who plans, guides and hosts every treasure hunt through the Gothic Quarter — not a call center, and not a franchise desk.
A Local Team, Not a Big Agency
Treasure Hunt Barcelona started in 2013 with a simple idea: swap the hotel conference room for the real city. Instead of another indoor icebreaker, we built a live outdoor game through the Gothic Quarter, La Rambla and Barcelona Cathedral — one that actually gets colleagues talking, laughing, and occasionally arguing about which way to turn next.
More than a decade later, that idea hasn't changed. We still run every event ourselves, with local guides who know these streets well enough to adjust a route on the spot the moment a group's energy calls for it. We've hosted teams from Booking.com, Sojern and Autoneum AG, among many others — and we still treat a 9-person team the same way we treat a 300-person offsite: as the only event that matters that day.

Local, not scripted
Our guides live and work in Barcelona and know the Gothic Quarter well enough to read a group's mood and adjust the route, pace or puzzles on the fly.

We've run this activity for teams from Booking.com, Sojern, Autoneum AG and many other companies since 2013.
Simple, transparent process

The Guides You'll Actually Meet in Barcelona
Every hunt is led in person by one of us — no subcontracted freelancers, no rotating roster of strangers.
Javier Ortiz Vargas
Lead GuideJavier has spent 8 years leading corporate groups through the winding streets of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, with an unofficial tally of treasure hunts run in the city that he's genuinely lost count of. Fluent in English, Spanish and Catalan, he's the guide who quietly rewrites a route on the fly the moment a group's energy calls for it. When he's not briefing groups at Plaça de l'Àngel, he's out scouting new corners of the historic center for the next Barcelona team building route.
Martin Roggon
Lead GuideMartin leads treasure hunts through Barcelona's Gothic Quarter alongside Javier, and has a habit of slipping in the neighborhood's less official history along the way — the stories the guidebooks leave out. Fluent in English and Spanish, he runs a briefing like he's letting your team in on a secret, and has an uncanny habit of guessing the winning score before the last envelope is opened. Ask him after the hunt for the least touristy tapas bar nearby — he'll have an answer.
